ARTICLE 6:Officers, Executive Director,Employees and Volunteers
Section 6.1 Roster of Officers.
The Officers of this Association will consist of the following:
President; Vice President; Secretary; Treasurer, Director Communication, Director membership
services, Director Special events planning. In addition, the Board of Directors may elect such
additional Vice Presidents and Assistant Officers, as they deem necessary from time to time
elected by resolution.
Section 6.2 Nominations.
Candidates for the Office of Director shall be a member in good standing for at least sixty (60)
days prior to the date of election and shall include:
1) candidates for office proposed by the Nominating Committee; and
2) Persons whose names are put in nomination by any member entitled to vote and seconded by another
member at any time before nominations are closed.
Nominations will be accepted by the Nominating Committee up to the last business day preceding the
meeting of members at which the election of directors is held.
Section 6.3 Election Method. Where:
1) The number of candidates nominated is equal to or less than the number of offices to be filled,
the candidates shall be presented as a slate and members shall cast a single vote electing that
number of candidates for offices; and
2) The number of candidates nominated is greater than the number of offices to be filled; the election
shall be by ballot.
Section 6.4 Election of Officers.
Each of the Officers of this Association will be elected bi-annually by the members of the association
from among those individuals who are also elected as directors of the Association. Each Officer will
remain in office until a successor, if any, to such office has been elected and qualified. Such election
will take place at the annual general meeting of the association. The cumulative method of voting shall be
used in a closed ballot format for all election of officers.
Section 6.5 Office of President and Vice President. The office of President will alternate in successive
terms between Alumni of Hampton School and Alumni of Munro College.
Section 6.6 Multiple Office holders. In any election of Officers, a single person may be elected and
appointed to any two or more offices simultaneously.
Section 6.7 President. The President will be the Chief Executive Officer of this Association and will, subject
to the control of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors, supervise and control the affairs of the Association.
The President will perform all duties incident to such office and such other duties as may be provided in these Bylaws
or as may be prescribed from time to time by the Executive Committee or Board of Directors. The President, or in
his or her absence the Vice-President, or in his or her absence the Secretary, or in his or her absence the Treasurer,
shall preside at all meetings of the Directors and Executive Committee of the Association.
